What does Chiropractic Care help?

Strictly speaking, chiropractic care addresses conditions relating to the nervous system and musculoskeletal system. Individuals can report improvement in areas like mental health, gut health, etc but chiropractic care is not addressing those issues. Dr. Erinn and Dr. Chris find and adjust subluxations present in the joints of the body and your body does the rest.

What is the first visit like?

After going through the initial intake paperwork, Dr. Erinn and Dr. Chris will do a thorough physical, neurological, and orthopedic exam to determine the cause of what brought you in. After that and depending on if Dr. Erinn or Dr. Chris would like to request x-rays, they will adjust you that day. If this is your first time being adjusted or you haven’t been adjusted within a month, the first adjustment will be very conservative to minimize the chances of any soreness following the adjustment.

Do you require X-rays?

In most cases, Dr. Erinn and Dr. Chris will request X-rays of your main complaint or of your full spine depending on the complexity of your case. It removes the guess work that some symptoms can present and increase the level of safety involved in your adjustment. We are happy to refer you to the imaging center of your choice but prefer Northern Lights Imaging for chiropractic related x-rays.

.

What is that “Popping” noise anyway?

Most patients are able to be adjusted with a quick, precise force that at times can cause the joints being adjusted to release nitrous gas very quickly producing the “popping” sound. We know that for some patients this can be a little scary and are happy to use techniques known to be effective that often don’t produce this sound.
